- Why does early host not happen during a requested game delay?

- What is Fog-of-war?
- Fog-of-war is a game where the complete map is not visible to the player. The player must use the Explore mission to discover additional planets. Fog-of-war uses the 'Explore Mode' option on the Zeus addon. More information can be found here. A Fog-of-war ribbon is awarded to all players that complete a fog-of-war game.

- What is THost?
- THost is an abbreviation for a game that is hosted by Tim Wisseman's Host.exe. This is the standard hosting mechanism for the original VGAP & DOSPlan games. There is a THost Ribbon awarded to all players that complete a THosted game.
- What are Sportsmanship Points?
- Sportsmanship points are points awarded to each warrior by their peers. Fellow warriors award other warriors that exhibit good sportsmanship behavior by allocating points. What constitutes sportsmanship is up to each individual warrior awarding the points. the total sportsmanship point count accumulated by each warrior is displayed on the warrior's home page.
- How do I get Sportsmanship Points?
- Upon completion of a game a Sportsmanship Ballot is emailed to each warrior that completes the game or had dropped from the game with a standing of less than 5% (6% with permission). The ballot allows each warrior to distribute 4 sportsmanship points to warriors they feel demonstrated sportsmanship and gamesmanship fitting to VGAP. (Note that warriors may not give the points to themselves.) Points are then tallied and added to each warrior’s statistics. Warriors must participate in the ballot to receive points! Warriors that do not participate in the Ballot are ineligible to receive sportsmanship points. Any points allocated to an ineligible warrior are lost.
- Why don't the Sportsmanship Points add up?
- Although each player gets to allocate 4 points not all points are accounted for. If a player does not vote they are not eligible to receive points so any points awarded to them are lost. On the other hand, if a voting player does not receive any votes from other players they get a "compassion" point; 1 point from theAdmin for participation.
- What is the Sportsmanship Ratio?
- The Sportsmanship Ratio is the total number of sportsmanship points a warrior has divided by the number of sportsmanship qualified games completed. If a warrior has 6 sportsmanship points and has completed 2 qualified games then their Sportsmanship Ratio would be 6/2 = 3. If the warrior has not completed any qualified games then their ratio is indicated with “n/a”. The ratio is intended to show the average number of sportsmanship points a player receives per game. The Sportsmanship Ratio is displayed on the Warrior Listing page and on each warrior's home page. (Note: There are games where sportsmanship points are not awarded (non-qualified games); these games are not included in the determination of the ratio.)
- Where can I get the Movie of a game?
- The Movie of the game is only available after the game is completed. The host will post the movie once the game is complete and can be downloaded from that games title block.
- How do I play the game movie file?
- The movie file requires VPM to play. VPM can be downloaded from the Docs&Download->HostToys page.

- How do I get my RST file?
- Go to your player page and click on the email RST button in the Game Status table or send an email from your primary address to the autohost with
- subject=[your password]
message body= "$SendRST: X" (X is the game number, or use "0" to get RSTs for all games your are in.)- Alternatively, you may also FTP your RST. Enable "FTP zip files" in your player configuration and the RST will be available for download after the next host.
- Why is FTP not available in my game status table?
- You must enable FTP download in your player configuration
- Why is FTP not working?
- If you just enabled FTP you must wait for one host execution for the file to become available. You must also have a password for your RST that is greater than 4 characters. If you password is less than this your RST will not upload to the server and will not be available for download.
- When may I drop from a game without penalty?
- A "Retire" button will appear on the game's race's score row when that race may retire without penalty. The button appears when their score goes below 6%. A player may actually drop without penalty once their score goes below 7% if they have the host's permission.
- How do I drop from a game?
- Send an email from your primary address to the autohost with
- subject=[your password]
message body= "$Game: XX" (XX is the game number)
Next line= "$QuitRace: YY" (YY is the race you wish to drop).- Be aware of the rules and possible penalties for dropping.
- Why am I getting RSTs but my race says R.I.P?
- Auto Troll considers a race dead once the score goes below 1% but as long as something exists from that race a RST file will continue to be generated. If your race says R.I.P. you may drop from the game without penalty.
- When is my game going to start?
- Games start is approximately 1 month after posting or when full. For standard 11-race games the game will start if there are 8 or more races playing. If after 30 days 8 races have not signed up the game does not start but instead is mothballed. Notification is sent to all registered players of that game if it is mothballed.
- What is a Mothballed game?
- A game that has some interest from players but not enough to start the game within the allotted 30 days (for an 11-race game 8 or more players must be registered for the game to begin) and the game becomes subject to deletion. Warriors may join or drop without penalty from mothballed games. If 8 or more players register for the game the game will go active and at that time penalties will be incurred if the warrior drops. All warriors are notified of any change in game status.

- For all intents and purposes the Forum is not monitored. If you have a particular concern or issue contact theAdmin.
- How is the Top 5 Warriors honor list determined?
- The list is derived from the top 5 active warriors in the player list. A change in rank placement occurs when the rank points between players is greater than 5.
To be eligible for listing the warrior must have been active in at least one
game in the last three months. After three months of inactivity the warrior
will be removed from the honor list but will still retain all of their points.
If an eligible inactive warrior signs up for a game they will join the ranks
of honor once their game commences.
- How are player points determined?
- Player points are derived from a combination of points accumulated while
playing games (AScore or ITAscore), award/bonus points for winning and valor, and penalty points. All the points a player acquires while playing at The Starbase are
accumulated and can be found on the player listings and on the Players home
page. More information can be found here
