ITA score & AutoScore

ITA & AScore are the fundamental basis for the scoring of all games played at this site. Which scoring method used will be written into the game descriptions.

A game using ITA score will have a default scoring configuration of:

Planet Bonus:	15 pts
Planet Defenses (D):	D/7
Planet Resources (R):	R/12
Ships Built/owned:	Mass / 12
Ships Destroyed:	Mass / 20
SB Defenses (SBD):	SBD * 1
SB Technologies (SBT:)	SBT * 7
Capture homeworld SB:	1000 pts
Capture other SB:	500 pts
Fighters, torps, mines:	no points

Any changes or additions to this scoring will be listed in the game description.

A game using AScore will use the standard AScore methodology (see AutoScore for additional information.)

Points scored per game takes the percentage of the Score * 100 to determine the number of points you receive per game. For example, if the score determines a players has 27% then the Ranking Points for that game are 27. When a game ends the final score remains as part of the total accumulation of points for the warrior. (This also means that if a warrior drops a game then no points are awarded.) As a Warrior continues to play all their scores are accumulated.

Bonus & Award points

Awards are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place showings. Other awards may be given for heroic deeds and special commemorations. Awards have two parts: Medals and points. The medals are proudly displayed on the Players Listing and on the Warrior's home page. These points are added to the warrior's rank basis points.

Bonus points are awarded for each game played, bonus points are modified depending on the duration of the game and the number of initial players. Bonus modifiers are cumulative.

theStarbase awards Ribbons for various efforts conducted either through games, theForum or contributions. A warrior must participate in a game for a minimum of 40 turns to receive game and campaign ribbons. If a warrior drops a race and the race is picked up by another warrior the first warrior forfeits any ribbons for that game.

The ribbons should be worn on the left lapel in the following order. The first column of ribbons displays the Warrior's Game Statistics. The second column represents the Warriors Campaigns. The third column represents the Warriors contributions to theStarbase community. An example is shown as thus:

Ribbons awarded for Games and Integrity:

theStarbase #1 Warrior theStarbase Top 5 Warrior	theStarbase Warrior ribbons: These ribbons are awarded to Warriors placed in the number 1 position or the Top 5 Warriors rankings.
	Royal Palm ribbon: This ribbon is awarded to a Warrior that has returned greater than 90% of their TRN files. A warrior must have completed at least one game to qualify for this ribbon.
	Gold Leaf ribbon: This ribbon is awarded to a Warrior that has dropped less than 20% of the games they have registered for. A warrior must have completed at least 5 games to qualify for this ribbon.
Associate Veteran, 5-9 games Junior Veteran, 10-14 games Senior Veteran, 15-19 games Ace Veteran, 20-24 games Magna Ace Veteran, 25+ games	Total Campaigns Fought: This ribbon is awarded based upon the number of campaigns the Warrior has fought in. Only one ribbon from this category may be worn at a time.

Campaign ribbons

	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Tim Host (THost) game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Portable Host (PHost) game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Half-Pint game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Wandering Tribes game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Fog-of-War, or "explore" game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have fought in a One on One game challenge
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in Risk style game
	Ribbon is awarded for warriors that have participated in a Dan & Dave game

Contribution ribbons

Associate Literary Contributor, 3-15 points Junior Literary Contributor, 16-31 points Senior Literary Contributor, 32-47 points Ace Literary Contributor, 48-53 points Magna Ace Literary Contributor, 54+ points	Literary contribution ribbons:These ribbons are awarded to warriors that submit articles, Bard’s Tales, or other literary works for posting to theStarbase for the benefit of its members. Each submission is loosely ranked by the editor and awarded 3-10 points. Points are cumulative. Only one ribbon from this category may be worn at a time.
Associate Material Contributor, 3-15 points Junior Material Contributor, 16-31 points Senior Material Contributor, 32-47 points Ace Material Contributor, 48-53 points Magna Ace Material Contributor, 54+ points	Material Contributions ribbons: These ribbons are awarded to warriors that have contributed to the fundamental support structure of theStarbase. These contributions may be in the form of infrastructure (web, database), idea generation, or any other contribution that has enhanced the Warrior’s experience at theStarbase. These points are awarded at the discretion of The Director. Points are cumulative. Only one ribbon from this category may be worn at a time.
Newbie, 11+ posts Junior Member, 50+ posts Full Member, 100+ posts Senior Member, 250+ posts Hero Member, 500+ posts	Forum Contributions ribbons: These ribbons are awarded to warriors that have participated to theStarbase Forum. These ribbons directly correlate to the Forums member rankings. Points are cumulative. Only one ribbon from this category may be worn at a time.
Associate Sportsman, 3-15 points Junior Sportsman, 16-31 points Senior Sportsman, 32-47 points Ace Sportsman, 48-53 points Magna Ace Sportsman, 54+ points	Warrior Sportsmanship: These ribbons are awarded based upon the number of "Sportsmanship" votes the Warrior has accumulated. Sportsmanship votes are given by a game's fellow warriors once the end-game criteria has been met. Players must participate in a game for 40 turns to eligible for sportsmanship points. Sportsmanship points are cumulative. Only one ribbon from this category may be worn at a time.

Rankings

The warrior's rank is determined by the total accumulation of game scores, bonus and penalty points. The following table outlines scores and rankings as determined by Auto Troll
